About Essentia Lighting & Control

Building a beautiful home or business shouldn’t feel complicated.

Yet most projects juggle separate contractors for electrical work, lighting, automation, and security. Each one focuses on their own scope. The coordination between them? That becomes your problem, not theirs.

At Essentia Lighting & Control, we believe there’s a better way.

One partner. One team. One standard,

from the first drawing to the day you switch on the lights.

Essentia integrated lighting, automation, security and ELV systems

Our Story

It started with one engineer’s curiosity

2012-2015

Moaath Albukaai trained as a computer engineer, not a businessman. In 2014, he opened a small IT company called Aelia Tech, with a showroom in Khobar’s Ha’el Center.

The goal was simple: introduce Saudi homeowners to smart home technology, at a time when almost nobody in the market knew what that meant. Aelia focused on wireless systems and lighting over PoE, and grew quickly into a company other system integrators turned to for guidance.

In 2015, Vimar, the Italian home automation brand, chose Aelia as its partner to introduce the brand to Saudi Arabia, and Aelia trained integrators across the region on how to use it.

By 2016

By 2016, Moaath partnered with Yousaf Khan to open Essentia Tech in Bahrain, shifting focus to KNX and professional building automation for projects across the region.

A year later, they noticed something the market kept missing: automation is only half the job, good lighting matters just as much. So Essentia Tech signed with Collingwood, a professional UK lighting supplier, and quickly became a leading lighting distributor in Bahrain and Alkhobar.

2026

That experience, more than a decade of it, is what led to Essentia Lighting & Control.

In 2026, Moaath and Yousaf partnered with Fundvest, under the leadership of Chairman Rawwaf Alhassan, to bring everything together: smart electrical work, building automation, lighting, and ELV systems, all under one roof.

Today, Essentia Lighting & Control is led by Rawwaf Alhassan as Chairman, Moaath Albukaai as General Manager, and Yousaf Khan as Sales Director.

Together they bring decades of combined experience, backed by Bahraini expertise in electrical and electronics engineering, and a team built to handle installation and technical support at scale.

That experience is exactly what makes the warranties and response times ahead possible.

A Complete Solution, Under One Roof

Most projects split lighting, automation, electrical, and security across different companies, and then hope someone coordinates them. We do it differently.

Essentia designs, supplies, installs, and supports every technical system in your property, engineered together instead of stitched together after the fact. That covers:

Electrical works and power distribution

Architectural lighting design and supply

Home and building automation

CCTV, access control, and intercom

Networking, Wi-Fi, and audio distribution

We also get involved early, working alongside architects, interior designers, and contractors from the design stage, not just at installation, so problems get solved on paper instead of on site.

Backed by Names You Can Trust

Good engineering needs good hardware behind it. That’s why we partner with some of the most respected brands in the industry: Vimar and Jung in home automation, Interra, Zennio, and Blumotix in KNX, and Collingwood and Aurora in architectural lighting, alongside trusted partners across ELV and audio.

These aren’t budget products we happened to pick up. They’re the same premium European technologies we’d choose for our own homes.

Certifications, Warranties, and Support That Actually Shows Up

Anyone can sell a product. Backing it up for a decade is different.

Our engineers hold certifications from the KNX Association, DALI Alliance, BACnet International, and Vimar, so every system is designed to global standards, not guesswork.

That expertise is also why we can offer warranties most companies in Bahrain simply can’t:

Years on building automation, the longest in Bahrain's market
0 +
Years on architectural lighting (fixtures rated up to 120,000 hours)
0 +
Years on electrical workmanship
0 +

Our SLA Response Times

And when something does need attention, our SLA response time is 4 hours for emergencies, 1 working day for urgent requests, and 3 working days for standard maintenance. Most companies would call the first number a promise. We call it standard.

Ready for What's Next

$3B

$7.4B

The GCC smart home and building automation market is expected to grow from $3 billion today to $7.4 billion by 2034. The Essentia Lighting and Control family is well equipped to serve that growth, backed by strong international partnerships and engineers with more than a decade of hands-on experience in the field.

Why Clients Choose Essentia

Most people don’t remember which brand of lighting fixture is in their living room. They remember whether the project felt organized, whether someone picked up the phone, and whether the systems just worked.

That’s what one accountable partner gives you: one team designing, installing, and supporting everything, so there’s no finger-pointing between contractors when something needs fixing. Because a beautiful space deserves technology that quietly makes life easier for years, not just on the day it’s switched on.

One Partner. Total Accountability. Luxury Without Complexity.
